Autumn Leaves, God Does Not

Updated 6/14/2016

Driving home from church today,  I saw a church sign that said, Autumn Leaves, God Does Not. Those words really made me stop and think. Here we are in Fall. The Autumnal Equinox occurred September 23rd. The Winter Solstice will occur on December 21st. Just as the seasons change, so do people. God made us that way. He also gave us Free Will; that can be good or bad.

You see, we naturally like to think of it in a positive way; that bad people change into good people. It gives us hope for the future. If we are honest with ourselves, we know too, that good people can change into bad people also. People come in and out of our lives. Even circumstances change. We are living in a world of constant change.

It is comforting to my heart to know that God does not change. His love is constant, unchanging; everlasting. God does some pretty awesome stuff for us, His Children. He gives us life, gives us this beautiful and sometimes challenging world to live in; friends and loved one to care for and who care for us. He wants us all to return to Him. To aid us in doing so, He gives us His Word and chosen people to help guide us to Him. God is always with us. He will never leave us. We may not see Him, or realize, but no matter, He is there; to help us and give us guidance. Lean on Him today. He can take it!

I don’t know about anyone else, but these thoughts give he reassurance and make me smile.

First Love . . . Forever Love?

Updated 6/14/2016

We have all had a first love that we remember with gentle fondness and loving memories. It isn’t necessarily the first person we date, although for some, that is exactly how it came along. For John McDougal and Patricia Heifelmeyer that is precisely what happened. Who are these people, you ask? John and Patricia are the protagonists in my novel Forever And Always.

When they met back in 1863 in Orleans parish John was the older of the pair. Along with being older you would naturally think he was very ‘experienced in the ways of the world’. Was he? How did they meet? Was it really love at first sight? I can’t tell you here, but all is revealed in Forever And Always. Here is a link to purchase the book:

Do you believe in love? I think we all do. I know I do personally. The love of my life is sitting beside me.
